Mullaney Family
By Frank W. Wing
My father was Michael Mullaney and my mother was Hilda S. Wing.
Since my parents never married I have my mother's maiden name
"Wing".
My father was a lot older than my mother and was married to Mrs. Mullaney and
had eleven children with her one of whom died almost at birth.
Although I knew my father had other children I had never been in contact with
any of them till about May of 2008 when my half brother Michael Mullaney past
away. When he died, I sent a $100.00 contribution in his behalf to Miram
Hospital. The Mullaney family could figure out who I was or why I sent the
contribution for several weeks. When they finally did, I received a call
from
Michael's daughter and my "new found niece"
Lori Grygalonis from Williamsburg,
Virginia.
Most all my half brothers and sisters have past on except for one sister, Jean
and one brother Jack.
The below picture are of some of my half brothers and sisters and with my
father's former wife in the middle.

All together I understand that I have thirty-six (36) nieces
and nephews now scattered throughout the country. Most of them
are around fifty or sixty years old and they have children and
some of them children also have children. All and
all this brings the total to somewhere around one hundred.
This has been
somewhat of a major change for me after growing up an "only"
child and then becoming an "uncle" to so many so quickly.
My wife and I have attended a few Mullaney Family Parties this
year and are finding it very unusual being called "Uncle Frank
and "Aunt Carol" for the first time in our lives. |
