    Cathy Ann Viveiros

Election night at St John's          November 8, 2011

The following are pictures from what many were hoping was going to
be a big victory party for Cathy
Ann Viveiros and also the beginning of her program to turn Fall River
    around.  Viveiros campaigned on
many important issues in the city  including reducing the unemployment
rate, which is the highest in
Massachusetts  and also reducing the high crime rate in the city.

The winner of the evening was the present young mayor, Will Flanagan who
    was reelected to
a second two year term.  Although the Fall River elections are
    nonpartisan, Flanagan is a
Democrat and had the backing of the very powerful international and local
    unions  while Viveiros
is an Independent and therefore had to raise most of her money locally.

The local media did an excellent " fair and balanced"  job of covering
    the election.   To Mayor Flanagan's
credit, this also applied to Fall River Cable TV (FRCTV Ch 95)  and
    Fall River Government TV
(FRGTV Ch 18)  which is more or less under the control of the Mayor.
Several debates were held and were
all very well covered by them and the other local media.   Both
WSAR and the Fall River Herald News
also held debates on the Mayor's Race.  WINGS TV supplied the sound
systems for some of the debates
and also supplied the sound and the large screen video screen for these
election night pictures at St John's..

The  Fall River Herald News endorsed Cathy Ann Viveiros and likewise,
WINGS TV also did on our Plymouth
Avenue sign the day before the election.  Although we and the sad
people in these pictures didn't support
the reelection of Mayor Well Flanagan here is hoping for the best for him
in his efforts to improve Fall River.
