Press Release
FRANK WING ATTENDED 2007 NAB IN LAS VEGAS
Frank W. Wing of Fall River and President of WINGS
Television, Inc. attended the National Association of Broadcasters Convention
next week (April 15th to the 19th ) in Las Vegas.
This convention is the world's largest electronic
media marketplace and features solutions across the entire media spectrum of
content creation, management and delivery. There were over 100,000
attendees from 146 different countries registered for this year’s 2007 NAB
Convention.
Some of this year’s speakers at the Convention include
Louisiana US Senator Mary L. Landriu; Tim Russert, moderator of “Meet The
Press”; Chris Matthews, NBC & MSNBC Host; Christianne
Amanpour, CNN; Eric Schmidt, Chairman and CEO of Google, and Tom Rogers,
President and CEO of TiVo.
Wings said that he saw Ultra-HD on a large
I-MAX screen in 3-D. Ultra-HD has resolution that is 16 times greater than the
High Definition that has recently become available in stores and on the airways
in this country Wing said that he first saw High Definition (HD) back in 1994
at the NAB SHOW in Las Vegas and that it took over ten years before it became
available to the general public in this country. Wing said that he believed,
most likely, it will take another ten years before Ultra-HD becomes available
here also.
One of the new products that was demonstrated this year and should be available
sooner, Wing believes, is the new three-dimensional, high-definition (3D-HD)
video format. This format will be shown to the NAB Attendees in Las Vegas using
highlights of the recent NBA All-Star Game that was also taped in 3D-HD. This
will also show them some of the incredible advancements in sports video
production and broadcast that have recently been made.
Another interesting subject was all the advanced technology of the internet with
streaming video etc. and what the impact will have on the radio, television,
advertising, industry and on the public.
